PICD Calls for Immediate Release to BBC Reporter
GAZA, March 12, 2007 (WAFA) -The Palestinian Institute for Communication and Development (PICD) strongly condemned the abduction of BBC correspondent Alan Johnston in Gaza.
In a press release issued Monday, PICD called for restructuring the relation between the citizen and the journalist, denouncing the disparagement of the Palestinian and international journalists' immunity.
The Institute also demanded the Palestinian official organizations to carry out their role and secure quick release of Johnston.
"The frequent cases of kidnapping foreigners harms the Palestinian people in the world," said the institute and urged Palestinian intellectuals and politicians to increase the people's awareness of the importance of international journalists for the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinian Institute for Communication and Development ended with expressing full support for Johnston and all other Palestinian and international journalists.
