Israeli Bulldozers Wipe out Village in Negev
NEGEV, March 7, 2007, (WAFA)-The Regional Council for the Non-Recognized Villages in Negev(RCUV) reported Wednesday that Israeli bulldozers demolished houses in the non-recognized village of al-Taweel in Negev, south of Israel.
In a statement faxed to WAFA, Head of RUCUV, Hussein al-Rafai'a said that mass of Israeli troops accompanied by bulldozers demolished all houses in the said village.
Rafai'a described the demolishing campaign as " catastrophe", calling on Arab Knesset members and all HR organizations to immediately intervene and stop the process of demolishing in Negev, in particular in al-Taweel village.
Since 1948, the Israeli Authorities refused to deliver building permission for thousands of Israeli Arab (Palestinian) families in Negev and banned essential services especially sewage, water and electricity. Meanwhile, they allow the Israeli Jews to construct buildings and establishments on the Arab seized land.
