President Abbas to Meet Solana Tomorrow in Brussels
BERLIN, February 22, 2007 (WAFA) - Brussels was added to the European tour of President Mahmoud Abbas aimed at winning international to Mecca Agreement, the formation of national unity government and reviving the peace process.
Following his visit to Berlin, which will end on Friday, President will head to Brussels for two-hour trip to meet with Javier Solana, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy.
President Abbas then will fly to Paris for talks with French officials.
A press release by the Solana's office said that he will meet President Abbas on Friday, 23 February 2007.
"The High Representative and Mr Abbas will discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian Territories, in particular after the agreement reached in Mecca on 8 February and the trilateral in Jerusalem between the President of the Palestinian Authority, the Israeli Prime Minister and the US Secretary of State," reads the press release.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity to evaluate the situation in the aftermath of the Quartet Ministerial Meeting in Berlin this week, it adds.
