JERICHO, August 23, 2006 (WAFA)- Head of the PLO Negotiations Affairs Department, Dr. Saeb Ereikat called Wednesday on the US Administration, Russia and the other members of Quartet to end Israeli military aggressions against the Palestinian people especially the Gaza Strip.

In two seperate meetings with US Consul General, Jacob Walles and the representative of Russian Federation to the PNA, Alex Poghodine, Dr. Ereikat called on Quartet to pressurise Israel to end attacks, assassinations, bombardment and siege.

He stressed that the Quartet must revive the political process, through the arrangments to convene an international conference, as stipulated in the Road Map, aiming at ending the Israeli occupation of 1967, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital to live side by side with Israel within June 4, 1967 borders.
