PCHR: 4 Citizens Killed, Including Child in a Week


GAZA, July 29, 2005 (WAFA)- Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) said, in its weekly report, 4 Palestinian citizens were killed by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), including a child who was run down by an Israeli colonizer's vehicle.

The report revealed that 19 Palestinians were injured among them a mother and child and a further 7 children. "IOF conducted 34 attacks into Palestinian communities in the West Bank and one into the Gaza Strip during the reporting period," said the report.

It added that many houses were raided and 33 citizens were arrested by IOF. "IOF continued to impose a total siege on the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), isolating the southern Gaza Strip," it said.

According to the report, IOF prevented citizens aged 16-35 from traveling through Rafah International Crossing Point and resumed a special checking machine (Axtari) at the crossing point.

It also said that and IOF arrested 12 citizens, including 2 women and a child, at military checkpoints in the West Bank.

IOF continued to construct the Annexation Wall in the West Bank. In Wad Rahhal and Jourat al-Sama'a areas, south of Bethlehem, 603 dunams of agricultural land was seized for the purpose of the construction of the Wall, and IOF starting razing dozens of donums of agricultural land near Tarqumea, west of Hebron city.

Israeli colonizers have continued to attack Palestinian civilians and property in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

"A Palestinian child was run down by an Israeli colonizer and a number of houses and civilian facilities were demolished by IOF in the West Bank," it concluded.
