'Hoping for UNRWA' and Shufat Refugee Camp Children
JERUSALEM, November 24, 2006 (WAFA) - Karen AbuZayd, UNRWA Commissioner General, Bella Freud, firm supporter of Palestine refugees, and Dr. Karma Nabulsi, Palestinian academic at Oxford University, will be meeting, Saturday 25th November, the children of Shu'fat Refugee Camp.
They will also sign an agreement uniting UNRWA with 'Hoping Foundation', a British Charity founded in 2003 that provides grants to community projects working with children in Palestinian refugee camps.
Bella Freud is a British fashion designer and great-granddaughter of Sigmund Freud. She is a firm supporter of Palestine refugees.
In an appearance on the BBC current affairs program Newsnight on August 2 2006, Freud denounced Israel's "disproportionately violent aggression" in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict.
Dr. Karma Nabulsi is a British-educated Palestinian academic at Oxford University. She was PLO representative between 1977-90 and an advisory member of the Palestinian delegation to the peace talks in Washington from 1991-1993.
