Palestinian People, Commemorating the 1948 NAKBA


GAZA, May 15, 2004, (WAFA)- Millions of Palestinian people in exile and in Palestine, have observed Saturday a two-minute silence and organized rallies in commemoration of the 56th anniversary of the NAKBA.... In the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, millions of Palestinians participated in the activities of the anniversary.... Downtowns, Palestinian citizens gathered in huge masses, chanting for Palestine and their Right to Return.... Rallies have poured into the main streets of the various cities, refugee camps, towns and villages, repeating the National Anthem and slogans calling for the implementation of the Right to Return approved by the International community.... They also chanted against the daily terror of the Israeli occupation state.... In the occupied Jerusalem, schools and academic institutions carried out "festivals", reviving the anniversary of NAKBA where thousand of Palestinian citizens were slaughtered by terrorist Zionist gangs in 1948.... Hundreds of scout-boys raised Palestine flag and pictures of President Arafat, calling for the implementation of the UN Right of Return resolution No. 149.... Hundreds of mass rallies were also organized, in all cities and refugee camps of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, reiterating the necessity to implement the UN resolution 194.... In the rallies, citizens have raised the names of more than 500 Palestinian villages wiped off the map by Israeli terrorist gangs in 1948 and replaced by Israeli names and cities.... In the 1948 Palestine, Palestinians participated in the ceremonies of reviving the NAKBA.... Schoolboys participated in speech festivals, commemorating the anniversary of NAKBA and calling for International protection against the Israeli state terror.... In 1948, hundreds of thousands of Palestinian citizens were either slaughtered or dispersed in different exiles all over the world.
