1 Citizen Wounded, 7 Others Arrested in the WB
TULKAREM, May 5, 2004, (WAFA) – A civilian was wounded Tuesday night when Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened random and heavy fire at the civilians’ houses in the West Bank city of Tulkarem, witnesses said.... They told WAFA that the IOF troops incurred into the city amid intensive shooting, stationing a number of military checkpoints on the city entrance. The civilian Murad Abu Tammam was wounded with a live bullet.... In the meantime, massive Israeli soldiers, backed by tanks and Apache helicopters, stormed Shofa, Thannaba and Nour Shams villages adjacent to the city amid intensive shooting and imposed a tight curfew, local villagers said.... In Jenin, IOF arrested Wednesday at least three civilians, Palestinian security sources said.... They told WAFA that IOF, backed by a number of tanks and military jeeps swept into the city opening fire indiscriminately at the civilians’ houses.... The residents said that the IOF conducted a door-to-door search campaign and arrested Ramy Qudsia 21, Mohammed Zahed 22, and Usama Turukman 22.... Meanwhile an Israeli military court sentenced the civilian Samer Abu Tool 24, to a 4 year- imprisonment.... Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli soldiers arrested three citizens in Ramallah City, witnesses said.... They told reporters that the IOF, supported by several tanks and military jeeps broke into the city and besieged Roky hotel arresting three of the hotel residents who were led into an unknown place....
