IOF Imposes Curfew On Jenin
JENIN, April 18, 2004, (WAFA)- Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) imposed early on Saturday curfew on the town of Seelat Al-Dahr and the village of Rummaneh, near the city of Jenin, witnesses said.... Witnesses told WAFA that Israeli troops swept into the Seelat Al-Dahr, south of Jenin, and imposed a strict curfew.... Israeli soldiers and armoured vehicles deployed in the roads and the alleys of Seelat Al-Dahr , preventing people to leave their houses.... Tens of workers and farmers tried to head to work but the Israeli soldiers prevented them at the gunpoint, witnesses said.... Mayor of Seelat Al-Dahr, Ragheb Abu Dyak, said that Israeli soldiers forced the employees of the municipality to leave their works and ordered them to close.... "Tens of houses were stormed and ransacked, neither students, teachers nor workers could go to work," eyewitness Ali Khalid said.... In the meantime, IOF also imposed curfew on the village of Rummaneh, west of Jenin.... Witnesses said Israeli troops rolled into the village and threatened the people to leave their houses.... "They used loudspeakers to warn any body of leaving home, they deployed in the streets and positioned at the junctions and entrances of the village," eyewitness said....
