Arab League: Cautions against Possible Collapse of Al-Aqsa
CAIRO, April 14, 2004, (WAFA) - The League of Arab States Wednesday warned the dangers of possible collapse of al- Aqsa Mosque.... In a meeting of the Arab Heritage officials in Cairo, Arab League described Israeli practices against the Palestinian people and their heritage as racist aiming at defacing the Arab-Islamic character in the Occupied Palestine.... Arab league also warned about the ongoing Israeli crimes of stealing and destroying the Palestinian heritage and archeological sites.... Arab League officials said that they have received a memorandum from the Palestinian Ministry of al-WAQF which reveals the dangerous possible collapse of al- Aqsa Mosque.... The Arab League insisted on the necessity to refurbish al-Aqsa Mosque, especially the western Wall of the Islamic museum.... Referring to the meeting of International Heritage Committee next June, Palestinian ambassador to Arab League Mohammed Sbeih called on the Arab states to coordinate their attitudes in order to expose the Israeli crimes of stealing Palestinian heritage....
