Presidency, government hold Israel accountable for prisoner’s death

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency and government today held Israel accountable for the death of Sami Abu Diyak while in prison due to what they said was premeditated medical negligence by the Israel Prison Services.

The Presidency warned in a statement “of the continuation of the slow death of prisoners in Israeli jails” due to its policy of medical negligence.

It expressed it deepest condolences to the Abu Diyak family and the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian government also condemned what it referred to as Israel’s “slow death policy against prisoners.”

Government spokesman Ibrahim Melhem told the official Voice of Palestine radio that “this crime demands an immediate international intervention.” He said the government is going to contact legal and international parties in order to save the prisoners held in Israel, especially the sick ones.
