HEBRON, Friday, April 05, 2019 (WAFA) – A teenager was critically injured today after he was run over by a Jewish settler with his vehicle near the village of Tuwanah, to the east of Yatta town in the south of the occupied West Bank, according to local and Palestinian security sources.
The sources told WAFA that Israeli settler was driving his car near the village when he intentionally ran over Aysar Mahmoud Hushia, 15, and critically injured him. He was moved to hospital for treatment.
The settler repeatedly attempted to run over other Palestinian pedestrians present at the scene as he ran away.
There was no comment from Israeli authorities on the attack.
In October 2018, a Palestinian woman was killed when the vehicle she was traveling in was pelted with stones by Jewish settlers to the south of Nablus in the West Bank.
According to Palestinian figures, more than 700,000 Jewish settlers now live in 196 settlements (built with the Israeli government’s approval) and more than 200 settler outposts (built without its approval) across the occupied West Bank.
International law views the West Bank and East Jerusalem as “occupied territories” and considers all Jewish settlement-building activity there as illegal.
