RAMALLAH, January 16, 2018 (WAFA) – Israel recently issued 19 administrative detention orders against Palestinians, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said on Tuesday.
PPS attorney Mahmoud Halabi said the administrative detention period ranges in time between three to six months that could be renewed.
He said eight of these orders were issued against Palestinians who are already serving time in prison in administrative detention.
According to a statistic by Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association, the total number of Palestinian political prisoners is 6154, with 453 of them being administrative detainees.
