Israeli army prevents Palestinian villagers from opening a road to their agricultural land

RAMALLAH, Monday, May 13, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today prevented villagers from Salem, to the east of the occupied northern West Bank city of Nablus, from continuing to work on opening a road to their agricultural land, according to Adly Shtayyeh, head of Salem village council.

He said that Israeli forces prevented workers from repairing a 700-meter-long strip of land in the eastern part of the village that would make access to their agricultural land easier and serve the needs of the villagers.

He said the soldiers threatened to confiscate a bulldozer if it continues to work on the road.

The army claimed the road was going through Area C of the West Bank, which constitutes more than 60 percent of the area of the occupied West Bank and falls under full Israeli military rule.

Israel never gives permit to Palestinians to develop Area C.
