Government condemns killing of three Palestinians, strike declared

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, March 20, 2019 (WAFA) – The caretaker government of Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah condemned today the killing of three Palestinians in the occupied West Bank areas of Nablus and Ramallah as a general strike was declared in Nablus and Salfit, home of one of the murdered Palestinians.

Government spokesman Yousef al-Mahmoud held the Israeli government accountable for the killing of Omar Amin Abu Laila, 19, the alleged perpetrator of a stabbing and shooting attack outside Ariel settlement near Salfit, who was killed in the Ramallah area village of Obwin after a siege of the house he was in, as well as Raed Hamdan, 21, and Ziad Nuri, 20, after opening fire at their vehicle in Nablus.

Mahmoud said Israel is deliberately making the situation worse with the killing of Palestinians.

He reiterated calls to provide international protection for the Palestinians.

Meanwhile, a general strike was declared in Nablus and Salfit in mourning for the slain Palestinians.
