RAMALLAH, Saturday, August 31, 2019 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused today on the fact that several Palestinians were injured by Israeli forces’ gunfire during the weekly Great March of Return protests at Gaza border yesterday.
The dailies said 75 protesters were injured by Israeli forces, some of them by live shots, while taking part in the border protests.
On a different subject, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said President Mahmoud Abbas awarded the late Iraqi commander Major General Omar Ali the Order of the Star of Palestine.
Al-Quds said the government has put in place steps to thwart Honduras’ decision to open a diplomatic mission to Israel in occupied Jerusalem.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said the PLO and the government considered Honduras’ decision on Jerusalem a crime against international law.
Al-Ayyam said around 600 illegal Israeli settlers broke into Islamic monuments in the West Bank village of Kafl Hares yesterday.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said the European Union announced a contribution of €24.5 million to the payment of the August salaries and pensions of nearly 56,000 Palestinian civil servants and pensioners in the West Bank.
Al-Ayyam said Israeli army detained four Palestinians after they crossed the border with Israel from the Gaza Strip.
