TEL AVIV, Sunday, May 19, 2019 (WAFA) – The Israeli High Court rejected today the state attorney‘s appeal against the decision to release a Jewish settler complicit in the stoning-to-death of Palestinian woman Aisha al-Rabi in October, and rather sent him to house arrest under electronic supervision.

In January, the court released four out of the five settlers complicit in the murder of Rabi, citing lack of sufficient evidence as a pretext for their release.

The court has served a reduced indictment against the fifth settler and accused him of “unintentionally causing murder” of Rabi, but not directly involved in her killing, despite evidence proving that he was only few meters away from the vehicle she was in when he pelted the car with a stone hitting her head and causing her to die.

According to the indictment, the suspect and other yeshiva students were on a hill near Route 60 in the central West Bank on October 12. The suspect "held a rock weighing close to two kilograms, with the intention of using it to harm Arab passengers, out of an ideological motive of racism and hostility toward Arabs everywhere."

“The suspect then threw the rock forcefully at the windshield of a car with a Palestinian license plate, which "directly and forcefully struck Rabi‘s head, all in front of her family."
