RAMALLAH, Sunday, May 19, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather on Sunday is abundantly sunny with a significant drop in temperature to become slightly above the annual average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Moderate conditions are expected to prevail in the mountainous areas today while hot condition remain in the rest of Palestine. Winds are northwesterly, light to moderate and active at times. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach today a high of 25°C and a low of 16°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 24°C and a low of 15°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 22°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 27°C and a low of 19°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A rise in temperature is expected, however, for Monday to become 3°C above the average and another significant rise in temperature is expected on Tuesday to become 7°C above the annual average as very hot weather condition return to Palestine.
Temperature continues to rise on Wednesday approaching 9°C above seasonal average.
People are warned against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight especially during the peak hours of the day between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm local time, and against setting fire in areas where dry grass is grown.
