Israeli forces detain 11 Palestinians from West Bank

JENIN, Monday, May 13, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained 11 Palestinians and injured three others with live ammunition across the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) today.

Israeli forces detained four Palestinians and injured at least three others during a violent detention raid into Jenin refugee camp in the north of the West Bank.

The raid triggered confrontations during which Israeli soldiers opened fire towards protesters, hitting and injuring two with live rounds in the leg and foot.

As Israeli forces withdrew from the camp, a protestor sustained injuries after being run over by an Israeli military jeep. All casualties were rushed to Khalil Suleiman Government Hospital in Jenin.

Scores of Palestinians also suffered from tear gas suffocation.

PPS said another Palestinian was detained in Yamoun town, west of Jenin.

In Nablus district, a military raid in Urif town, south of Nablus, resulted in the detention of a Palestinian man.

A similar military raid was carried out in the northern West Bank city of Qalqiliya, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.

In the southern West Bank, PPS said four Palestinians were detained in multiple raids across Bethlehem district.
