NABLUS, Monday, May 06, 2019 (WAFA) – A number of Israeli bulldozers razed Palestinian-owned lands in the village of Madama, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlements activities in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that the bulldozers belonging to Israeli settlers started to raze Palestinian lands in order to pave a settler-only road in the area.
The road will make it easier for settlers to access a local water spring.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Settlers frequently commit acts of violence against Palestinians with full backing from Israeli authorities. Such acts of violence include property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes.
Over 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
