RAMALLAH, Thursday, May 02, 2019 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas today congratulated Naruhito on the occasion of his inauguration as Emperor of Japan.
The President expressed in a cable to the new emperor “his pride in the friendly relations and cooperation between the two peoples and countries, as well as Japan‘s stand in support of the rights of the our people and in building their economy and institutions and for their struggle to establish the independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital as the city of tolerance, coexistence and peace for the followers of all religions.”
Naruhito, 59, ascended to the thrown as Emperor of Japan on May 1 after his father, Emperor Akihito, 85, abdicated his thrown on April 30 after a reign of 31 years. Naruhito is the eldest son of Akihito.
