RAMALLAH, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 (WAFA) – Diaspora Palestinians were never a burden on their host countries, but rather have contributed to their development and progress, Foreign Minister Riyad Malki said today after meeting at his office in Ramallah a delegation from the Palestinian community in Chile headed by Miguel Abdo and George Alalam.

He said the Palestinian leadership stands by its Palestinian community in the Diaspora and is ready to help them keep the name of Palestine at high standard in the world.

“Diaspora Palestinians have maintained their identity and were never a burden on their host countries, but rather contributors to their development and welfare,” he said.

Malki said in reference to the American so-called deal of the century that the Palestinian leadership and people will not accept any deal that does not meet their aspirations of freedom and independence.

He also briefed the delegation on the latest developments in the occupied territories and Israel’s efforts to create new facts on the ground with its settlement activities.

Abdo said the delegation, whose members are from the fourth generation of Palestinians in Chile and come from eight different cities, was happy to be in Palestine. He considered this visit as an important opportunity for them to convey what they saw on the ground to the people of their cities upon their return.
