GAZA, Tuesday, April 02, 2019 (WAFA) – A 25-year-old Palestinian man who was critically injured on Saturday during the March of Return first anniversary protests on the Gaza border with Israel succumbed today to his wounds, medical sources said.
Faris Yousef Abu Hajras, from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip, was shot by Israeli soldiers stationed on the other side of the border fence while participating in the protests east of Khan Younis.
He was critical in hospital until he was pronounced dead late Tuesday.
Abu Hajras was the fourth Palestinian to be killed by Israelis during the Saturday protests when tens of thousands of Palestinians marked the first anniversary of the launch of the protests and the 43rd anniversary of Land Day with protests at the border with Israel. Dozens were also injured from live bullets fired by the Israeli soldiers, some reported in serious condition.
