Palestinian prisoner marks 17 years in Israeli jails

 

JENIN, Sunday, March 31, 2019 (WAFA) – Palestinian political prisoner in Israeli jails Abdul-Fattah Kamel Sahalabi completes today 17 years behind Israeli prison bars, said the Palestinian Prisoner Society.

Shalabi, who comes from the town of Silat al-Harithiya in the occupied West Bank, was arrested on March 31, 2002, and was sentenced to 21 years in jail for resisting the Israeli occupation.

He has been denied family visits at many times by Israeli prison authorities.

Israeli authorities are still incarcerating more than 6,000 Palestinian and Arab prisoners for resisting its occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem as well as the Golan Heights.
