RAMALLAH, Thursday, November 08, 2018 (WAFA) - An Israeli military court ruled on Thursday to release Fayrouz Na’alweh, sister of Ashraf Na’alweh who is accused of killing two Israeli settlers in the West Bank settlement of Barkan on October 7 and remains at large, after spending 28 days in detention,  Addameer attorney Samer Samaan said.

He said the court also imposed on her a 4500 Israeli shekels ($1225) fine.

Fayrouz, a university instructor, was detained on October 11 after an army raid at her home in Nablus in the north of the West Bank.

Samaan said Fayrouz underwent intense interrogation for very long hours that reached 20 hours a day, and was mistreated and threatened while undergoing psychological duress during detention. She was also denied the right to see her lawyer for nine days.

The Israeli army, in pursuit of Ashraf, has raided his home in Shweikeh neighborhood of Tulkarm, in the north of the West Bank, and detained his entire family members for several days and weeks at a time to pressure him to turn himself in.

The last raid at his home was on Wednesday when the army thought he was hiding in the house. However, after almost destroying the house, the army realized he was not in.
