SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Saturday, November 03, 2018 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas met on Saturday his Egyptian counterpart, Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi, on the sideline of the Second World Youth Forum in Sharm el-Sheikh, where they discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and in Palestine, particularly in light of the dangers facing the Palestinian cause.
Abbas praised Egypt’s efforts and the importance of continuing coordination and contact between their countries.
The two leaders also discussed ways to reinforce mutual relations between Palestine and Egypt and their peoples.
The president arrived in Sharm el-Sheikh on Friday at the invitation of al-Sisi.
Attending the meeting was Azzam al-Ahmad and Hussein al-Sheikh, both members of Fatah Central Committee, as well as Abbas’ advisor on diplomatic affairs Majdi Khalidi and Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt, Diab al-Louh.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and the head of the Egyptian intelligence, General Abbas Kamal, also attended the meeting.
