RAMALLAH, July 13, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Friday night handed over the bodies of three Palestinians who were killed by Israeli forces after they were held in Israeli mortuaries for periods between one and three months.
The occupation authorities handed over the bodies of Rami Wahid Sabarneh, Mohammad Marshoud, and Mohammad Anbar to the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC) at three checkpoints in the occupied West Bank.
Sabarneh was shot dead by Israeli forces on June 2 while he was working on a bobcat excavator in the southern West Bank city of Hebron. The Israeli military claimed that Sabarneh had attempted to carry out a vehicular attack against Israeli soldiers before they shot him dead.
Marshoud was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces on April 9 outside an illegal Israeli settlement to the east of Jerusalem.
Anbar was shot and critically injured by Israeli soldiers at a military checkpoint near the city of Tulkarm, northern West Bank, on April 2, before he died of his wounds a couple of days later.
Israeli authorities have escalated the policy of withholding Palestinian bodies killed by Israeli forces, claiming that funerals of Palestinians had provided grounds for “incitement” against Israel.
Dozens of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces are still withheld in Israeli mortuaries despite calls by human rights groups on Israel to release them.
