BEIJING, July 8, 2018 (WAFA) - Chinese Foreign Minister and State Councilor Wang Yi Sunday confirmed his country’s continued support for the Palestinian issue and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

During a meeting held in China with Secretary-General of Arab League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on the sidelines of eighth ministerial meeting of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum, Wang Yi confirmed his country’s keenness to communicate in this regard with the League of Arab States.

Both sides exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues, including the recent developments in the Palestinian issue and means of providing the necessary support to ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and with East Jerusalem as its capital and the protection of the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Secretary-General further affirmed the priority of the Palestinian cause, and the major role that China can play in this regard; given its permanent membership at the United Nations Security Council and the great importance it enjoys in the arena of international relations.
