JENIN, July 5, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday detained a total of 15 Palestinians during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said WAFA correspondents and security sources.

Israeli forces raided the northern West Bank city of Jenin, where they detained two former prisoners, including former cabinet minister Wasfi Qabaha.

Qabaha was appointed as Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs in the short-lived Hamas-led government after the Islamic movement won legislative elections in March 2006.

Forces also raided Burqin town, west of Jenin, where they detained another former prisoner after storming and ransacking his family’s home.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, forces detained two Palestinians during a similar predawn raid into Fara‘ata village, east of Qalqiliya.

They also conducted a similar raid into Immatin, southeast of Qalqiliya, detaining a Palestinian.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops raided al-Mazra‘a al-Qibliya village, north of Ramallah, detaining two Palestinians.

Another Palestinian was detained during a raid in Sinjil town, northeast of Ramallah.

Israeli forces also detained a Palestinian youth and his father after breaking into their home in Abu Dis town, southeast of Jerusalem.

In the meantime, forces raided Dhahiriya town, southwest of Hebron, where they stormed and several homes and detained a Palestinian.

The detainee was identified as Khaled al-Battat, 47, Secretary-General of Fatah movement in the town.
