RAMALLAH, June 19, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday detained a Palestinian mother from the town of Taqou’, in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, during a family visit to her detained son in the Israeli Ramon Prison.
The son, Mohammed al-Badan, was detained in 2008 from inside the Israeli settlement of Gilo, built illegally on land belonging to Palestinians in the town of Beit Jala, in Bethlehem, after he was shot and injured by an explosive bullets, also known as “dum dum” bullets, which necessitated his admission and stay in hospital for several months due to the seriousness of his injury.
Al-Badan’s left kidney, and a meter-long of his intestines were removed and replaced by plastic ones. He also underwent a total gastrectomy as a result of the injury.
The detainee was sentenced to 29 life imprisonment and 14 years in jail.
