JENIN, June 17, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Sunday prevented a young Palestinian man from the town of Burqin, west of Jenin, from travelling via al-Karama (Allenby) border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan, where he was heading to Hijaz in Saudi Arabia to perform ‘Umrah (Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca).
The youth, who was identified as Mohammed Ali ‘Ateeq, told WAFA Israeli forces held him for hours at the border crossing after interrogating him and before he was prevented from crossing, citing ‘security reasons’ as a pretext.
