Teen who died of wounds from Israeli army gunfire laid to rest

 

RAMALLAH, May 24, 2018 (WAFA) – Odai Abu Khalil, 15, who died of wounds sustained during protests in Ramallah marking the 70th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba on May 15, was laid to rest on Thursday in his hometown village of Ein Sinia, north of Ramallah.

Abu Khalil was shot and seriously injured in the abdomen by Israeli soldiers during a protest in the north of Ramallah. He was moved to a hospital in Nablus for medical treatment but was pronounced dead of his wounds on Wednesday.

More than 110 Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured by Israeli forces at Gaza-Israel border and in the West Bank, more than half of them killed during protests on May 14 marking the Nakba anniversary and against the opening of the United States embassy in Jerusalem.

The killings were met by condemnations worldwide and calls for Israeli officials to be prosecuted for war crimes.
