RAMALLAH, May 19, 2018 (WAFA) – Weather on Saturday is very hot to dry and dusty with temperature 11 degrees Celsius higher than its annual average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Wind is southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, active at times. Sea waves are low.
Temperature on Saturday is expected to reach the mid to upper 30s in most of the West Bank with the exception of the Jordan Valley where temperature is expected to reach the low to upper 40s during the day. In the Gaza Strip, temperature is expected around 33 degrees Celsius during the day and drops at night to around 22 degrees Celsius in the Gaza Strip and West Bank except for the Jordan Valley where temperature at night reaches the upper 20s.
PMD also predicted weather on Sunday and Monday to remain very hot, dry and dusty in some areas. Temperature is expected to drop while remaining higher than annual average by eight degrees Celsius on Sunday and seven degrees Celsius on Monday.
Very hot, dry and dusty weather is expected to continue on Tuesday. Temperature is expected to rise, approaching nine degrees Celsius higher than annual average.
PMD also warns citizens of direct exposure to the sun for long periods especially during climate hours, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and of the dangers of fire in areas of dry grass.
