BRUSSELS, May 15, 2018 (WAFA) – Belgium‘s foreign minister Didier Reynders Tuesday summoned the Israeli ambassador Simona Frankel after she indicated that Palestinians killed in Monday‘s violence in the Gaza Strip were "terrorists."
Prime Minister Charles Michel said he was "shocked" by the interview in which Frankel said those killed in Monday‘s protests "are terrorists, 55 terrorists."
Reynders said Belgium cannot accept the comment that all killed or hurt were terrorists. He also took offense to another comment that Israeli soldiers had to act before there were casualties on the Israeli side.
"There were two statements I could not accept: One on proportionality of force by saying they could not wait for Israeli casualties — there were none," he said.
