RAMALLAH, May 14, 2018 (WAFA) – Government spokesperson Yousef al-Mahmoud Monday announced a general strike on Tuesday to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Nakba, the day when around 700,000 Palestinians were forced out of their homes and displaced by Israel in 1948.
He said, “Based on instructions by President Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinians will observe a general strike and all government institutions and departments will be closed.”
