RAMALLAH, May 14, 2018 (WAFA) - Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) said the celebrations for the illegal transfer of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem is a celebration for the burial of the peace process and the two-state solution.

In an interview with Palestine TV, Erekat said the attendees of the celebration for the transfer of the US embassy to occupied Jerusalem are the Americans and congress; who are paid by Americans.

He said that the absence of 70 countries who have refrained from attending the ceremony, proves  that the policy of imposing facts on the ground will not lead to any results.

Erekat stressed that the US Embassy in Jerusalem is a new settlement outpost that will disappear, stressing that the massacres committed against the Palestinian people will only increase their steadfastness.

Erekat pointed out that the implementation of the decisions of the Palestinian National Council has been initiated.

“The United States is no longer a partner or a mediator and will not be part of the peace process.”

 He said that all final status issues, including the issue of refugees and the release of prisoners, will be resolved.

Erekat said Palestinian leadership is going to hold an emergency meeting on Monday night to discuss action against the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem.
