JERUSALEM, May 11, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli police attacked dozens of Palestinians who were gathering outside the holy al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem on Friday to protest Israel’s recent excavations in the Islamic Bab al-Rahma cemetery in the city, before the police arrested four of them.
The Palestinian protesters were demonstrating peacefully against the Israeli excavations in the cemetery which started three months ago, with a purpose of establishing an Israeli museum and other facilities to serve illegal Israeli settlers at the site of the cemetery.
Israeli police fired teargas canisters and stun grenades at the protesters as well as physically assaulted some of them and arrested four.
The police also reportedly assaulted some of the journalists who were covering the march, including reporters and photojournalists from Palestine TV.
