RAMALLAH, May 5, 2018 (WAFA) - Nabil Shaath, advisor to President Mahmoud Abbas for external affairs and international relations stressed that president Abbas’ visit to the three Latin American countries – Chile, Cuba and Venezuela – aims to garner more political support for the Palestinian issue.

In an interview with Voice of Palestine radio, the advisor noted that Abbas’ visit comes at a time of continuing pressure by the US administration on these countries, as is the case with Guatemala; which decided to move its embassy in Israel to occupied Jerusalem.

President Abbas is expected to meet with the leaders of all three countries, where they are set to discuss the bilateral relations between both countries. Abbas will also meet with members of the Palestinian communities there.
