Fatah mourns killing of journalist Abu Hussein, demands an end to Israel‘s crimes

 

RAMALLAH, April 25, 2018 (WAFA) – Fatah faction Wednesday mourned the death of Palestinian journalist Ahmad Abu Hussain who died of serious wounds he sustained on the 13th of April after being shot by Israeli forces while covering protests on the Gaza border.

The ministry of health Wednesday announced that journalist Ahmad Abu Hussien from Jabalia refugee camp north of the Gaza Strip died of wounds sustained two weeks ago after being shot by Israeli forces while covering the recent protests along Gaza borders with Israel.

In a statement issued by the office of the high commissioner for information, culture and intellectual mobilization, the faction said Israel targets journalists in an attempt to cover up its the crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people and its grave violations  of international law.

Fatah stressed that the international silence encourages Israel to continue its crimes against the Palestinian people.

“The death of journalist Abu Hussain will only increase our journalists’ determination to continue their holy duty of reporting the truth and exposing the occupation.

Fatah reiterated its call for the international community, UN bodies and organizations, human rights institutions, and the International Federation of Journalist (IFJ) to intervene in order to protect the Palestinian journalists and stop Israel’s crimes against them.
