Israeli forces raze Palestinian land despite High Court ruling

QALQILYA, April 17, 2018 (WAFA) - Israeli forces on Tuesday razed 15 dunums of privately-owned Palestinian land in the village of Immatin, to the east of Qalqilya in the north of the West Bank, in order to expand the illegal settlement of Emanuel, which is built on Palestinian lands, according to Haitham Sowan, head of Immatin village council.

He told WAFA that Israeli bulldozers returned to raze the land owned by Fawzi Ghanem, who was able to stop a previous work on his land after obtaining an Israeli High Court ruling last month ordering stoppage of the work on his land.

Nevertheless, he said, the Israeli authorities did not comply with the court ruling and resumed razing the land this morning.

Palestinian land owners have deeds which prove their ownership of the land, he added, saying that this case will be followed up in local and international courts.
