6 protesters injured as Israel attacks Gaza rallies for second day

GAZA, March 31, 2018 (WAFA) – At least six Palestinians were injured on Saturday and dozens others suffocated by teargas after Israeli forces continued to attack the rallies commemorating the Land Day on the eastern border of the Gaza Strip for the second day, according to local sources.

WAFA correspondent said Israeli soldiers, stationed at borderline watchtowers, opened fire at protesters to the east of Khan Younes, injuring three of them with live shots in their feet. The injured were moved to nearby Nasser Hospital for medical treatment.

Israeli forces also shot and injured three other protesters to the east of Gaza City, as well as to the east of Jabalia, in northern Gaza Strip, and east of Bureij refugee camp, in the central Strip.

Last Friday, Israeli soldiers opened fire at Palestinians who rallied peacefully near the border fence with Israel marking Land Day and calling for the right of return for refugees to their homes and lands in historic Palestine. In the end, 15 Palestinians were shot dead and more than 1400 injured, most of them from live gunfire. Some were reported in critical condition.
