Concern in West over anti-Muslim hate flyers

RAMALLAH, March 31, 2018 (WAFA) – Concern surfaced in Europe and the United States over flyers that call for violent acts against Muslims and set April 3 as the date for action against them.

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), the largest Arab-American civil rights organization, said in a statement that it was outraged by the hateful and violent fliers encouraging people to take part in “Punish a Muslim Day.”

Originating in London, where they were left at the steps of several mosques, the fliers have alarmed communities across the US, causing worry that that the planned day – Tuesday, April 3 – may lead to hate crimes against Arabs and Muslims and anyone suspected of being Arab and/or Muslim.

“This is a frighteningly outspoken promotion of violence that requires the utmost vigilance and community readiness,” said ADC.

The flyer advocates physical harm of Muslims, including throwing acid in their face, beating, butchering and bombing mosques.
