AMMAN, March 30, 2018 (WAFA) – The Jordanian government condemned on Friday the Israeli escalation on the Gaza Strip in which Israeli forces shot and killed 13 Palestinians and injured more than 1,400 others.

Spokesman of the Jordanian government Mohammad al-Momani blamed Israel, the occupying power, for the escalation and for its use of lethal force against unarmed Palestinian civilians in violation of all international laws and norms.

Al-Momani called on the international community to pressure Israel to abide by its responsibilities as an occupying power and to address the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

“The continued absence of prospects for a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause that guarantees the right to freedom, dignity and state for the Palestinian people will serve to instill an environment of despair that prompts extremism and leads to more violence and bloodshed,” said al-Momani.
