Weather: Significant drop in temperature, chance of rain

 

RAMALLAH, March 24, 2018 (WAFA) – A significant drop in temperature is expected for Saturday compared to Friday, but remains around two degrees Celsius above annual average. A chance of rain and scattered showers on some areas are also expected, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department.

Wind is westerly to northwesterly, moderate to active, gusty at times and sea waves are medium to high.

Cloudy skies are expected for Saturday night with cold conditions, mainly in the mountainous areas.

Temperature is expected to reach a high in the upper teens in degrees Celsius in most of the West Bank and Gaza and a high in the mid-20s in the Jordan Valley. Temperature, however, drops at night to 10 degrees Celsius and below in the central West Bank areas and the mid- teens in the coastal areas and the Jordan Valley.

A rise in temperature is expected for Sunday, which coincides with Palm Sunday in the Christian western calendar ushering in the holy week of Easter. Temperature is expected to become four degrees Celsius above the annual mean with pleasant spring conditions.

A significant rise in temperature is expected for Monday and Tuesday as temperature become 11 degrees Celsius above the mean average.
