Israeli forces detain eight Palestinians from West Bank

 

RAMALLAH, January 22, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday detained eight Palestinians, including a lawmaker, during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said  Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Israeli forces detained three Palestinians after storming their family homes in Kufr Malik and Kharbatha al-Misbah, west and northeast of Ramallah.

Forces also detained Omar Abdul-Razeq, a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) from the Hamas-affiliated Reform and Change bloc, after ransacking his home in Salfit city in the northern West Bank. Later reports said Abdul Razeq was released few hours after his detention.

Another Palestinian was detained during a similar raid into the northern West Bank city of Jenin.

Still in the northern West Bank, forces conducted a raid into Nablus district, where they detained a Palestinian.

Meanwhile, Israeli police handcuffed and detained a Palestinian after breaking into his family home in East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Issawiya.

To the south of Jerusalem, forces conducted a raid in Beit Jala city, west of Bethlehem, detaining at least one Palestinian.
