Israeli forces quell protest against US decision on Jerusalem, Paramedic injured

RAMALLAH, January 20, 2018 (WAFA) – A Palestinian paramedic Saturday was shot and injured in the head with a rubber-coated steel bullet during clashes that broke out in Kufr Qaddoum village, east of Qalqilia, said a local activist.

Coordinator of the popular resistance committee in the village, Murad Ishtawi, said Israeli forces suppressed a rally that was called for by Fatah faction in protest of US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel.

Forces heavily fired rubber bullets, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades against protesters, shooting and lightly injuring a paramedic who works for the Health Work Committees in the head.

At least three Palestinians were injured on Friday as Israeli forces violently quelled the weekly and peaceful anti-settlement demonstration in the village of Kufr Qaddoum.

Kufr Qaddoum has been actively organizing peaceful organized opposition against Israeli occupation policies, as residents have organized protests every Friday, and have often been met with tear gas, rubber-coated steel bullets and stun grenades fired by Israeli troops.
