RAMALLAH, January 19, 2018 (WAFA) – Weather on Friday is very cloudy and cold as temperatures significantly drop. Heavy rain with thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected to fall over different areas, with a chance for snowfall during the early day hours over mountains 1,000 meters above sea level, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department.

Winds are northwesterly to westerly and active. Sea waves are high.

The region was affected by a deep, cold low pressure front on Thursday night, which is expected to last until the evening hours.

Temperatures are anticipated to slightly rise on Saturday, yet remaining chilly and below the seasonal average.

A further rise in temperatures is expected on Sunday, becoming slightly above the seasonal average.

The PMD warned citizens on Saturday of low horizontal visibility due to the formation of fog, low clouds, formation of floods in low areas and sliding on roads because of hail, snow and rain.
