Israeli court extends detention of Ahd Tamimi for 4th time

RAMALLAH, January 17, 2018 (WAFA) – The Israeli military court Ofer Wednesday extended the detention of Ahd Tamimi and her mother Nariman Tamimi, for the fourth time in a row, according to the father, Bassem Tamimi.

He told WAFA the court decided to extend the detention of his wife and daughter and scheduled a hearing for Ahd on the 31st of January and another for Nariman on the first of February.

On December 19, an Israeli army unit composed of 20 vehicles raided the village of Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah, and detained the 16-year-old girl.

Tamimi was shown in a video that went viral on social media pushing back and hitting two Israeli soldiers who were standing outside her family home on Friday following confrontations in the village against the US decision recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel.

The mother, 40, was detained the same day when she went to see her daughter at the detention center, while Israeli soldiers detained Nour Tamimi, 20, who appeared in the same video, after raiding her family home in the same village.
