JEDDAH, January 14, 2018 (WAFA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation Sunday condemned the Israeli authorities’ decision to allow more than 1,100 housing units to be built in 20 different West Bank settlements with some on private Palestinian lands.
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Yousef Al-Othaimeen said the Israeli policy of settlement expansion is considered a blatant violation of Palestinians‘ rights and aim to impose a new reality to hinder the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
He said Israel is violating international law and resolutions by the international community through building and expanding illegal settlements in the West Bank.
Al-Othaimeen called on the United Nations Security Council to hold full responsibility and end the illegal policy of settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
