RAMALLAH, January 14, 2018 (WAFA) – Minister of Education Sabri Saidam Sunday instructed 500 teachers appointed by the Palestinian Authority prior to the 2007 division to return back to the posts they held.   

“The decision comes as part of preparations for the second semester, taking into consideration schools needs and to ensure work progress and to serve the educational process," Saidam said.    

He said directorates of education will communicate with the 500 teachers to handle the necessary procedures for their redeployment.

PA public employees were ordered not to cooperate with the Hamas authority following its takeover of power in Gaza in June 2007.

The employees, whose number is around 20,000, were told to stay home and to continue receiving their salary.
